Adjusting Camera and Microphone Permissions (Student Devices)

When a student accesses an app or website for the first time and would like to record sound, video, or capture images in the software, they will need to allow the app or website to access their device’s camera and/or microphone.


If a student accidentally denies access to the camera and/or microphone, you can adjust the permissions by following the directions below:


 

For students using an iPad:

Open the Settings App.


Locate the App from the menu on the left side of the screen.

Turn on the Camera and/ orMicrophone*



 

For students using a Chromebook:

Tap on the site identity icon (the lock symbol) in the address bar.

Turn on access to the Camera and Microphone.*

Hit the refresh icon to reload the page. 



*Please note: the camera and/or microphone setting cannot be turned on until the student reaches the point in the app where they will use them for the first time.
