Troubleshooting Google App Integration Issues in Canvas
This is a step-by-step guide to resolve most Google Apps integration issues in Canvas. Please complete these steps with assistance from either a school TSS or ITC – or consult the Online Learning Systems (OLS) Team for help.
Step 1: Remove Google Drive as a Registered Service in Canvas
- Open Canvas and go to your Account > Settings.
- Under Registered Services, locate Google Drive.
- Hover over it and select the red circle with an “x” to remove it. Here is a screenshot showing how-to remove this service.
Step 2: Remove Google Drive LTI IAD-Prod as an Approved Integration in Canvas
- Open Canvas and go to your Account > Settings.
- Under Account > Settings, find Approved Integrations.
- Look for Google Drive LTI IAD-Prod and click the trash icon to remove it. Here is a screenshot of this trash icon. If this integration doesn’t appear then skip this step.
Step 3: Remove Google Drive LTI by Canvas as an App in Google Drive
- Open Google Drive and click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings, then go to Manage Apps.
- Locate Google Drive LTI by Canvas, click Options, then Disconnect from Drive.

Step 4: Log Out
- Log out of Canvas, Google Drive, and Google Chrome.
- On a Chromebook, log out of the device instead of Chrome.
- Close Chrome completely after logging out.
Step 5: Clear Cache and Cookies
- Reopen Google Chrome. If on a Chromebook, log back into your account.
- Follow Google’s Cache and Cookies Clearing Guide.
- Ensure the time range is set to All Time before clearing.
