Google - Setup MFA with Microsoft Authenticator
To enhance the security of our systems and protect sensitive information, a new security feature called Multifactor Authentication (MFA) will be enabled on your Google account. This guide outlines the process of setting up MFA on your Google account with Microsoft Authenticator as an authentication method.
1. Navigate to Google.com
2. Click on Sign in
Click on the Sign In button on the upper right-hand corner of the website.
3. Enter your email address
Type in your full NNPS email address in the highlighted box. Click the Next button to continue.
4. Enter your password
Type in your password in the highlighted box. Click the Next button to continue.
5. Click on the User Icon
You are now signed in. Click on the user icon on the upper right hand corner of the page to open your account settings.
6. Click on Manage your Google Account
Click on the Manage your Google Account button to access your account settings.
7. Click on Security
On the left side of the page, click on the Security button to access the security settings for your account.
8. View MFA Settings on your Google Account
Navigate to the How you Sign in to Google section on this page. Click on the Authenticator button at the bottom of this section to begin setup.
9. Click the Setup Authenticator Button
10. Grab your phone
On your phone, navigate to your Microsoft Authenticator App. In the App, click the + button in the upper right hand corner and choose Scan a QR code.
11. Select Option
From the menu, select the Other (Google, Facebook, etc.) option
12. Scan the QR code
Using your phones camera, scan the QR code that is shown on the screen. Click Next to continue once the code has been scanned.
13. Enter Code Displayed within the App
Verify the code that is presented to you in the Google Authenticator app. Click the Verify button to complete the setup.
