Google - Setup MFA with SMS/Text Message
To enhance the security of our systems and protect sensitive information, a new security feature called Multifactor Authentication (MFA) will be enabled on your Google account. This guide outlines the process of setting up MFA on your Google account using SMS/Text Message as the primary authentication method.
1. Navigate to Google.com
2. Click on Sign in
Click on the Sign In button on the upper right-hand corner of the website.
3. Enter your email address
Type in your full NNPS email address in the highlighted box. Click the Next button to continue.
4. Enter your password
Type in your password in the highlighted box. Click the Next button to continue.

6. Click on Manage your Google Account
Click on the Manage your Google Account button to access your account settings.
7. Click on Security
On the left side of the page, click on the Security button to access the security settings for your account.
8. Enable MFA on your Google Account
Navigate to the How you Sign in to Google section on this page. Click on 2-Step Verification section to begin setting up MFA on your account. Click the Get Started button to setup your
9. Enter your phone number.
Type in the phone number that you would like to use in the highlighted box. The area code is required. Click next at the bottom of the screen.
10. Grab your phone
On your phone, navigate to your Text Messages to view the code sent by Google
12. Type in your verification code
Type in the Verification code that you received from Google. You do not need to include the “G-“ in your code. Click Next to continue.
13. Enable 2-Step Verification
Click on the Turn On button to finish the setup process.
