How do I connect my document camera to my laptop?

These steps are for the Aver U50 model USB document camera.

You will need the Sphere2 Software installed on your laptop to use with your USB Document camera

If you do not see this software, submit a work order to your TSS for support.

Connect your document camera to your laptop

Plug the document camera into your laptop using the USB cord
- It does not need to plug into a wall outlet, it will pull power from your laptop.

Open the Sphere2 software

Click the search icon in the bottom left corner of your Windows taskbar.
Type Sphere2 and click on the app to open
- Before closing the app, right-click on the red Sphere2 icon on your toolbar and click “Pin to Taskbar.” Then, it’ll be there with one click next time you want to use it.
After the software opens, your Aver U50 document camera will connect automatically.

If you are using another document camera brand, you may need to switch tabs to Side by Side for the camera to show up.

You can also use this option when you need to show your webcam and your document camera view at the same time.

Helpful camera controls:

Pause Screen: Freeze image in place
Auto Focus: adjusts the camera image so it is sharp and clear
Zoom In/Out: Make objects under the camera appear larger or smaller as needed.
Rotate Right/Left: Turn the camera image to allow for flexible positioning and adjust the viewing angle of the image.
