Uploading Photos to Canvas Using an iPad/iPhone

Students will often submit photos for a Canvas assignment taken with an iPhone or iPad. Unfortunately, Canvas does not support the default iPhone/iPad photo format (.HEIC) which prevents students from uploading their content. Follow the steps below to adjust iPhone/iPad photo settings in order for photos to upload to Canvas properly.

On your iPad or iPhone:

1. Open the Setting app, Selecting Camera

2. Select Formats

3. Check Most Compatible (this will disable the .HEIC file format)
